Fire Cadets Attend Remembrance Parade to honour those who serve to defend our democratic freedoms and way of life.

This year, the UK Fire Cadets were honoured to be able to unite across faiths, cultures and backgrounds to commemorate the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces community from Britain and the Commonwealth.

They were able to march alongside soldiers, sailors, airmen and airwomen, members of the emergency services and civillians,  as well as the families of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and surviving service men and women.

Supported by NFCC, UK Fire Cadets were proud to be part of the Royal British Legion, Remembrance Service on Sunday the 14 November at the Cenotaph in London.  This was the first time in their history that Fire Cadets have marched at the national event but have a long history of supporting local commemorations.

The Fire Cadet contingent consisted of 31 cadets from 11 services across the UK and travelled from as far as Cornwall, North Wales and Scotland.  The Cadets laid a wreath at the Cenotaph in remembrance of those that had made the ultimate sacrifice, this was provided by South Yorkshire FRS and was made from Fire Hose.  They were joined on the day by hundreds of other Cadets who participated in local parades across the UK.

Alistair Macintosh, UK Fire Cadets National Manager said, “this was a very proud day for the young people and the adults supporting them, many of whom have experience of relatives that have served in our armed forces. The young people were a credit to UK Fire Cadets, the Fire Services and the NFCC.”
