Project Executive - Evaluation of Fire Service Interventions Project

The NFCC Community Risk Programme (CRP) is a fully established programme with three key projects now providing products and guidance for the UKFRS sector. Based on the overall objectives of the programme the CRP Board have approved the commencement of an additional project. This project will focus on developing a methodology to evaluate fire service interventions.

This presents an exciting and challenging opportunity to join the CRP Programme as a Project Executive to lead the CRP Evaluation of Fire Service Interventions Project, ensuring that it:  

  • Remains focused on delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Achieves its overall objectives and goals.
  • Delivers products that enable FRS’s to fully realise the anticipated benefits.
  • Provides value for money and takes a cost-conscious approach, balancing the demands of the project, end user and supplier needs.

The Project Executive will:

  • Have overall accountability for the project as the key decision maker.
  • Ensure the project maintains its focus with clear authority, and that any identified risks are actively managed.
  • Be the chair of the CRP Evaluation of Fire Service Interventions Project Board
  • Be an active member of the CRP Programme Board.
  • Have agreement from their line manager to commit fully to the CRP Programme.

The ideal Project Executive for this role will have the following attributes:   


  • Developing and managing evaluation processes within a UKFRS.
  • Designing and implementing evaluation-related activities.
  • Working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Driving change in the UKFRS sector.
  • Currently hold a strategic level position within a UKFRS.

Personal Qualities

  • A strong understanding of the importance of evaluation and defining evaluation practices.
  • Hold significant influence within and beyond the FRS sector to be able to drive the project forward.
  • Ability to understand and engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to think and operate at a strategic level to ensure effective delivery of the project objective.
  • Energy and drive to lead the Project Board.
